I Miss Playing Poker!

Guest Post by Adriana Teixeira, April 24, 2014

I've been a kind busy with work and haven't been playing as much poker as before. I really miss playing poker! Now, with the holidays at hand, I'll be spending more time watching poker videos and getting back to the tables.

I'm thinking about playing some multi-table tournaments for a change. I've previously told you that I've started playing and enjoying sit and go multi-table tournaments, because they are not much different from multi-table tournaments with limited fields.

What are you been playing lately? Are you playing sit and gos? What about multi-table tournaments? Do you play cash games or even live poker?

All types of poker games require some study and practice! Even if all types are poker, each variety is different. You can know how to play all the games, but if you gain the proper skills, you can be successful at all types of poker.

I'm going to keep playing Omaha Hi/Low and No Limit multi-table tournaments for now since I really enjoy it.

I'd like to recommend a book that I just started reading, but it's a great base for your poker studies.  “Secrets of Professional Tournament Poker - Vol I” by Jonathan Little. This book helps you to gain skill in reading your opponents; value betting; learning how to handle the action both pre-flop and post flop; and quite a number of other things.

This book is totally worth it, so give it a try! Since studying poker will always help your game, I'm going to give you specific tips to help you improve.

Poker is always about studying, learning, trying, and focus. If your life is as busy as mine, wait for the right moment and come back to the game. You just need to know that improving your game will take some time to do it right. Even if you think you play poker just for fun, you will gain a lot of insight about your game by studying to improve it.

It’s always about a choice. Not just in poker but mostly in your life.

Good luck at the tables and see you around!

Cheers,

Dree
