Dilshat "DMAA1013" Mametbakiyev Wins Sunday Prime

Posted by Bradley, May 11, 2014

There are talented online poker players in Kazakhstan! One of the players in the country to keep an eye on is Dilshat "DMAA1013" Mametbakiyev, a regular at the Titan Poker tables. On Sunday, May 4th, Dilshat bested 668 opponents when he won the Sunday Prime tournament, capturing a first place prize of €4,537. Previously, he had finished 2nd in the same weekly poker tournament in the middle of March, winning a prize of €3,954.

"I've been playing poker for over 2 years," Dilshat told us in an interview after his win. "When I started out, I played Sit 'n' Go tournaments. I really like Titan Poker's smaller freezeout tournaments, especially when the starting stack is 5,000 chips."

We asked Dilshat if he remembered any key hands from the Sunday Prime tourney. "The key point was when my KJ beat AK" when only four players remained, he told us.

Dilshat's strategy was to remain tight when the stakes were low, and then to push full force when he reached the final table.

We asked Dilshat what he intended to do with his tournament winnings. Dilshat said he planned to play offline poker tournaments, including the WPT National Kazakhstan, scheduled for later this month.

We congratulate Dilshat for his tournament win and wish him further successes at the Titan Poker tables.
